Welcome to Art and Design at St Joseph's
"At St Joseph's all pupils will be taught art, craft and design to engage, inspire and challenge them. Their developing knowledge, skills and understanding will lead them to experiment, invent and create their own works of art! As pupils become artists and designers, they will be taught to think critically and develop an understanding of art and design. Through cross-curricular work pupils will learn that art and design as well as artists, reflect and shape our history and contribute to the culture and creativity of our world." - Art and Design Policy
Our school values creatvitiy and has a passion for all the arts. Throughout the year children will be able to experience various extra curricula activites based around this passion. We will offer clubs focused on exploring children's talents and passion for drawing, painting, model making, drama and dance.
We were previously a proud 'Silver Artsmark Award' school - which celebrates our love for the arts! We are currently aiming for our Gold award!
Around school you will find creative and exciting displays which showcase the hard work of the children, we value our bright and exciting school and feel that each area should be enagaing for all children.
