Year 1 and 2 2019 - 2020

Miss Raymond

Miss Raymond

This is my ninth year teaching at St Joseph's and I feel very excited about continuing as KS1/ EYFS Lead this year. Alongside this role I will continue to lead English, Achievement For All and Pupil Premium. Outside school, I enjoy playing piano and guitar, playing tennis and reading. I also love to spend time with my family and friends.

Miss Howard

This is my second year teaching at St Joseph's and I am teaching in year 1 again this year. This year I am responsible for Philosophy for Children and Gifted, Able and Talented. I am looking forward to getting to know my new class and supporting them through their journey this year; I am hoping that we can have lots of fun with our learning!

When I'm not in school you can usually find me at the gym, on long walks with my family or enjoying a musical theatre show!

Mr Ellam

Hi and welcome to Mr Ellam's class!

I am very excited about teaching Year 2 this year, in my second year as part of the St Joseph's family.
As well as teaching Year 2, I am also responsible for Computing within school.

Outside of school, I love the outdoors - something that I get to take advantage of, in my role as a Scout leader. I enjoy reading and watching Crewe Alexandra (sometimes!)

Welcome to the Year 1/2 team -

We're looking forward to a busy Autumn with our new topic 'Where is the Naughty Bus Going to take us?'. We will be learning how to use and make our own maps and will be practising using the different points of the compass. In our lessons we will learn all about aerial photographs and have fun making our own images from a bird's eye view. The children will be learning all about London and the major cities of the UK and will be learning how to find them on a map. We will also be carrying out a traffic survey and presenting our findings in a graph.

Online games will be available each Friday on TT Rockstars for your child to practise their maths skills. Spellings will be sent home to learn and children are expected to read with an adult at least three times each week. Thankyou for your help and support with your child's learning.

As always, we are all here to help and if you have any questions or would like to speak to a member of the teaching team please come and see us on the playground or email the office or call to make an appointment.
