Year 5 and 6 2019 - 2020

Miss Bennett

Welcome to Year 5 and 6, I have been teaching at St Joseph's for 12 years now and as well as leading Key Stage 2 I have responsibility for Mathematics and Behaviour in school, all of which I am very passionate about. I am looking forward to the upcoming year and all the exciting experiences that our children will be involved in.

Outside of school I love reading anything and will happily spend a whole weekend sat on the couch with a steaming cup of hot chocolate and an adventure book.
During the holidays I adore travelling around Europe and finding interesting places to take photographs.

Mr Dalton

Mr Dalton

As well as teaching Year 5/6, I am responsible for the RE curriculum and music. As part of this, I especially enjoy running the choir which seems to reach new heights every year! I’ve been at St Joseph’s for 7 years now and every year is different. I look forward to seeing what this new school year brings.

Away from St Joseph's, I have taught in schools in Huyton and Northern Ireland, although contrary to popular opinion I’m not from there! I am a proud Widnesian and demonstrate this by passionately following the Widnes Vikings Rugby League team at every possible opportunity. When I'm not working, I love spending time with my family, especially my two children who certainly keep me busy!

I feel really lucky to be part of the St Joseph's School community and especially being involved in the learning, fun and excitement that each day brings.

Mr Matthew

My name is Mr Matthew and this will be my first year at St Joseph's. I am really excited to be joining this wonderful school and I am looking forward to the brilliant year ahead!

I am extremely passionate about maths. I like the feeling you get when you solve a really tricky problem and enjoy finding new and interesting ways to solve problems. I also love P.E. and I am very sporty. My favourite sport to teach is football, but I also like basketball and badminton also.

When I am not in school, I am usually playing or watching football. I am a keen Liverpool supporter and follow them very closely. I also really enjoy films and music.

I'm most looking forward to getting to know the children individually and I know that we will have an absolutely fantastic year together.

Welcome to Year 5 and 6!

We are all excited about the year ahead. The Year 5 and 6 teachers have planned lots of exciting opportunities to learn outside of the classroom, including an increased number of Forest School sessions and interesting trips.

The topics that we have planned this year are going to be very exciting and will provide plenty opportunities for us to be creative. For more curriculum information, keep coming back to the website and you can read our posts on Twitter. If you are able to help with any aspect of our learning please speak to the class teacher.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to speak to a member of the Year 5 and 6 team or email the main office.
