Year 5 and 6 2021 - 2022
As well as teaching Year 6, I am responsible for RE and music. As part of this, I especially enjoy running the choir which seems to reach new heights every year! I've been at St Joseph's for 9 years now and every year is different. After a challenging couple of years, I'm hoping that we can start to see a return to normal school-life this year.
Away from St Joseph's, I have taught at schools in Huyton and Northern Ireland, although contrary to popular opinion I'm not from there! I am a proud Widnesian and demonstrate this by passionately following the Widnes Vikings Rugby League team at every possible opportunity. When I'm not working, I love spending time with my family, especially my two children who certainly keep me busy!
I feel really lucky to be part of the St Joseph's School community and especially being involved in the learning, fun and excitement that each day brings.
Welcome to Year 5, this is now my fourth year at St Joseph’s and my first time of teaching year 5. I feel extremely fortunate to have already taught half of you last year, from which we can now continue on our learning journey. As for the other half, I am very excited to get to know you. I am sure we will have a fantastic time as we explore the new topics.
As well as teaching Year 5, I am also responsible for our ‘Forest Schools’ and ‘Learning Outside the Classroom Curriculum’ which I am very passionate about. Linking our learning to the outside and the natural world is something which I carry out on a regular basis to further enhance the experience and learning.
I am extremely excited about the upcoming year and experiences it may bring with my new class.
Outside of school I enjoy bird watching, fishing, Pilates, walking and tending my allotment.
Welcome to Year 5/6, I am now in my fourth year of teaching at St Joseph’s. I am excited to be moving back to Upper Key Stage 2 and teaching Year 5/6 again this year. As well as teaching in KS2, I am also responsible for leading Science and running the Eco Council. I am always looking for creative ideas for both of these responsibilities so please feel free to share your thoughts with me. After talking to Mr Dalton and Mr Lewis I am looking forward to all of the exciting things we have planned for this year!
When I am not in school, I spend a lot of time with my family. I also enjoy reading and will often spend my time at home curled up with a good book. When the weather is nice I like going on walks and taking time to appreciate the beautiful scenery we have around us.
Welcome to Year 5 and 6!
We are all excited about the year ahead, even if it will not quite be the same as usual. The Year 5 and 6 teachers have planned lots of exciting lessons including opportunities to learn outside of the classroom.
The topics that we have planned this year are going to be very exciting and will provide plenty opportunities for us to be creative. For more curriculum information, keep coming back to the website and you can read our posts on Twitter. If you are able to help with any aspect of our learning please speak to the class teacher.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to speak to a member of the Year 5 and 6 team or email the main office.
