Foundation Stage 2021 - 2022
This will be my 7th year teaching at St Joseph's after completing a placement as a PGCE student and never wanting to leave!
During my time at school I have taught across all key stages and this year will be teaching in Reception and I am excited to continue to lead the EYFS team!
I love working in the Early Years - it is an exciting and fun filled environment which suits my personality.
I am also responsible for leading Art and Design in school, the Raising Aspirations work in school and this year I am really looking forward to working with other staff to support the teaching of RE in school.
I am returning to school full time this year after completing my MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy and hope to support children across school with emotional support as well as their educational and spiritual development!
When I am not in school you are most likely to find me in the kitchen baking various cakes and bakes or walking my lovely black Labrador, Sophie or my new very big and beautiful rescue dog, Athos!
I am looking forward to this year and can't wait to get to know you all - if I can help with anything please let me know.
I have always loved working in Early Years and am currently in my fourth year of teaching at St Joseph’s. This year I hope to pass on my love of reading to my class so prepare for some silly stories to come home! I can’t wait to get to know new children and parents and I know there’s an exciting year ahead of us.
As well as teaching Reception, I am responsible for PSHCE and our “No Outsiders” project. This is something I am extremely passionate about and I look forward to working with children throughout the school to implement our new programme 'Life to the full' (have a look at our Relationship Education page). This year I am also sharing the responsibility for phonics – which I love! It is my favourite subject and I really enjoy sharing the beginning of this journey with Reception.
Outside of school you’ll find me trying out new recipes in the kitchen, spending time with my three cats or enjoying musical theatre!
This is my 4th year teaching at St Joseph's. I am really excited to be back in Nursery this year as Early Years is my passion!
I am the Modern Foreign Languages and PE lead this year! I am hopeful that we can finally get to France for the KS2 trip and I look forward to all of the sporting competitions we will be competing in too.
When I'm not in school you can usually find me at the gym, on long walks with my family, baking or enjoying a musical theatre show!
Welcome to the Early Years!
This year we are looking forward to supporting the children's learning through meaningful play experiences.
We are passionate about giving the children meaningful experiences which help them develop understanding in all areas of their development.
Our P.E Days - on these days children will need to arrive at school in their P.E kit.
Miss Hilditch - Friday
Miss Allenden - Wednesday
Our first topic is "All About Me?" - we will be explroing along side the children and learning all about who they are and what they like/dislike. We will look at their names and what they look like, celebrating their birthday, their family and where they live! We will also be looking at what makes them individual and special!
We have lots of exciting activities planned! Please keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter page for lots of updates and photos.
You might find it useful to watch the following clip to see some answers to questons asked by children! This might help before they start!
